SHOPPING MALL ACTIVATION

During the 2016 October School Holidays, over 10,000 families nationwide engaged with the Green Fairy both in virtual reality and augmented reality. We had long queues of people eager to try out the technology.

EXPERIENCING A HIDDEN WORLD

We had people lining up to have a turn at our VR stations where they could step into a virtual fairy-land. While they waited, we had colouring-in tables where kids could build their own fairy houses and activate them with a free AR app. Finally, we had an AR photo competition for families to win a Jumpflex trampoline, sponsored by Westfield.

This was our first brand activation and it led to a ripple effect of requests from brands for CONICAL to produce tech-based solutions for their experiential campaigns.

AUGMENTED REALITY COLOURING-IN APP

Ever thought your drawings could come to life? That’s what The Big Hoot event from Haier was all about. Artists from around New Zealand were commissioned to paint huge owl sculptures that were scattered around Auckland.

Our team was commissioned to produce an Augmented Reality app that empowered kids to see how their “Big Hoot” owl design would look in real life using AR.

Through the Haier Big Hoot Colouring app, kids can download and print a template, colour it in, and use the app to watch their design come to life as a flying and hooting owl.

360° Interactive Game

In collaboration with Ikon, our team created an app for L&P’s Chilli and Lime flavour. We integrated the game within Facebook, web-browsers, and as a mobile app.

The game worked as a scavenger hunt in 360° to find the hidden chillies and limes at Paeroa’s iconic giant L&P bottle.

Our aim to make the game challenging was to set a timer for which the user had available to collect all the chillies and limes – the time accelerated the closer you got to the end.

The purpose of the game was to collect people’s details to enter a competition after playing a fun game. We created an online database that our client had access to and was able to continue communication with its target audience.

360° Interactive Game

PASIFIKA BEATS IN VR

We created a virtual reality rhythm game inspired by Beat Saber and Guitar Hero in which the player plays the drums with a Pasifika beat and environment.

The player navigates through the Pacific Islands, accompanied by three playful coconut characters into an adventure at the University of Auckland’s Fale Pasifika.

The aim of the game is to use it as a promotional tool that encourages young people to beat each other’s scores at UoA’s pop-up events.

INTERNATIONAL SHOWCASE

CONICAL has been repeatedly invited to showcase its AR/VR work at international festivals and competitions including Tech Crunch Battlefield Australia (Sydney, Australia), Future en Seine (Paris, France), VR On the LOT at Paramount Pictures (Los Angeles, USA) and Kidscreen (Miami, USA).

These events have enabled us to engage globally with other brands and consumers. Our experience with creating our own showcases can be put to use by your brand to engage a wide variety of people across the world.
